Come along to the Tarporley Twinning Association’s annual fun quiz night…

When?  Saturday 21st April 2018; at 7:00pm for 7:30pm

Where?  at the Tarporley Scout Hut Bowmere Road, Tarporley CW6 0BS

Tickets £6 each from members or from Swaffields

Our next adult visit to Bohars in France will be from Friday the 4th to Monday 7th of May 2018 inclusive.

Longer stays and/or with children by is arrangement with the host family.

Events are normally planned for most of Saturday and Sunday.

As you may know the pear tree is the symbol of Tarporley.  A few years back we took some young pear trees over to Bohars and planted them on land donated by their community.  They have been growing and are now producing fruit as you can see in the pictures below.  They have certainly done well since they were planted in November 2013!

A party of young people from Tarporley will be visiting Bohars during August and it looks like there will be plenty of pears for everyone to enjoy.

We’ve been in the news a lot recently, following the visit from Bohars…

On Saturday 13th May the Tarporley Community Centre hosted the first Annual Parish Meeting marketplace; local clubs and organisations were invited to take stalls to tell the local community about themselves.  The Twinning Association was there with information about what we do and we got to chat with lots of interested residents.

Below are photos from the May Bank Holiday visit from Bohars.  The weekend included a visit to Blists Hill near Ironbridge, a get-together at Huxley Village Hall, visits to Chester, Tarporley (of course!), walking the Sandstone Trail and more; finishing with a celebration meal at Piste in Tarporley on Sunday night.

The Twinning Association will have a stall at the Parish Council Annual Meeting event on Saturday 13th May in the Tarporley Community Centre.  Come and see us and have a chat!

The event is between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday.

We’ve just said goodbye to our visitors from Bohars who were here over the Bank Holiday weekend.  More about their visit will follow soon, so watch this space!

A group of around 18 of our friends from Bohars will soon be coming to visit us, from the 29th April to the 1st of May.

We’ve organised a full programme of events including a coach trip to Blists Hill & Ironbridge Gorge, a get-together at Huxley Village Hall, and a special dinner at The Piste in Tarporley on the Sunday.

We look forwards to seeing everyone!
